Ecommerce Scheme


This scheme is developed under the “De Minimis Rule” for enterprises, which provides financial support to SMEs to take advantage of the electronic commerce opportunities (e.g. website development, online shop).

During the first and second announcement of the scheme (2009-2010 and 2011-2012) 587 applications from SME’s have been received. A total of approximately €2.6 mil. was granted to 235 companies.

During 2013, 76 inspections were carried out in companies that received subsidies under the Scheme.

The Business Online Programme, has contributed positively towards the growth of e-commerce in Cyprus. The Ministry proposed the scheme to be included in the programming period 2014-2020 action plan and it is expected to be implemented in 2017.
